Twenty-five ambitious Year 10 pupils from Broomfield were invited to enjoy lunch at Queens' College, Cambridge on Friday 22nd November. They had a personalised tour and talk about how to make a successful application to the University in the future. Our pupils want to read a range of subjects from medicine to law. They enjoyed seeing the oldest, intact medieval
courtyard in Cambridge, the river Cam and the punts going under the Mathematical Bridge. They learnt about the 31 colleges that make up the University of Cambridge and how Queens' College was founded in 1448. They also visited the beautiful Downing College. "This is the second trip of this kind", said Mrs Chatterton, who has recently completed her postgraduate studies at the college. She added: "there will be more to come as there is a huge appetite for academic success at Broomfield School and Cambridge University is very welcoming of any student who is truly in love with his or her subject."
