Broomfield Speakers' Club was delighted to welcome Baroness Lola Young today. She inspired over sixty of our year 9 and 10 pupils with her lifetime achievements. She explained her role in the House of Lords, the impact of her work and gave away secrets of how she valued memories of people who were kind to her throughout her life and helped her during her life in care as a child. Baroness Lola Young has been a peer in the House of Lords for twenty years and was pleased with the questions that our thoughtful youngsters put to her about her role, her favourite books and her thoughts about overcoming prejudice.
