Last term, we were invited to contribute to The Community Jubilee Collage, funded by the Arts Council. Embroidery artist Jill Kipnis from Inspirational Embroidery, in conjunction with Stitch N13 visited our school to teach and inspire our students to make their joyful, celebratory textile squares.
Not only is this work a joyous and historic celebration of the Queen's Jubilee. It is also a shared endeavour, made more poignant by her recent death. It has been an honour for Broomfield students to have taken part.
The tapestry is large, very impressive and full of wonderful creative pieces of art. It was proudly on display at our Open Evening. In fact it's so big, we had to use our volleyball posts to suspend it and hang in all it's glory!
Jill from Inspirational Embroidery writes 'It was a privilege to come into Broomfield and inspire some wonderful artists of tomorrow. Well done kids'.
Stitch N13 writes 'Brilliant contributions and so pleased the children at Broomfield took part so enthusiastically and creatively'.
Thank you to Ms Morris, Head of Art and Design who has coordinated this project.
