The Minchenden Library
The recently reopened Broomfield Secondary School Library is a place to inspire learning and a passion for reading. We aim to foster a positive learning environment by filling the library with artwork, plants and educational resources.
The library hosts exciting events every week ranging from regular scheduled activities such as chess coaching, which takes place every day, through to international recognised events such as World Book Day. The library currently has over 1000 books available to be borrowed and our collection is always growing.
In addition, we have an online society, which allows us to encourage student leaderships and promote discussions.
We also host a range of library bi-weekly KS3 lessons teaching students library skills as well as encourage them to take charge of their own reading.
The library is staffed by one school librarian with the support of student volunteers and student librarian leaders.
The calendar of the upcoming library events can be found here.
