Broomfield Debating Society was represented in the Imperial Juniors regional debating tournament on 25th February. Our team had to debate in three rounds. Firstly we had to oppose the motion that 'this house would legalise the use of performance enhancing drugs in sports'. Then we had to propose the banning of religious schools. Finally our team (Ethem and Lindsey) had to oppose 'the narrative that people should pursue doing something they love as a career'. Mrs Chatterton, our debating coach, encourages pupils in all year groups to develop their public speaking and thinking skills through joining the society.
